Girl, Step Up is a non profit organization centered on empowering girls from minority and (first-generation, low-income) FGLI backgrounds. Our mission is to provide access to academic and career resources, mentorship, and provide a strong foundational model of leadership to empower young women in the Kansas City area. We believe that every girl can step up when they are given proper guidance, tools, and tangible support from the very beginning. Our resources include personalized mentorship for applying to college or trade school, professionalism training, academic support through funding for standardized testing and study materials, and an all-expense paid annual event hosted by our founder, where members can hear from the founder and women in positions of leadership and success.
